Each week, choose an activity and record your work in your homework book. If you are having a go at a practical activity, you could take photos and
stick copies in your book. How you present your work is up to you – have fun! We will share and celebrate home learning every Friday afternoon.
Journey to the sea...
1. Find out how a river gets from its source to the
sea. Make a poster to show how it changes,
drawing each part of the river on its journey to
the sea. tinyurl.com/y3sourcetosea is a good
website to use for information.
Time to complete activity – 2 weeks
Fascinating facts...
Create a factfile about a famous river. Include
- its name
- its length
- its depth
- where its source is
- which sea it flows into
- which countries it passes through
- important events in history that have
happened on or near the river.
Remember to have a look at our class display for
ideas!

Far from ‘bore’ing!
Use the website tinyurl.com/y3severnbore to
find out what The Severn Bore is and when it
happens. You could ask an adult to take you to
see it after school or on a weekend day. If you
are lucky enough to go to see the Bore, wear
suitable warm clothes and outdoor shoes/boots.
Find a safe place to watch and stay with an adult
at all times. If you aren’t able to see the Severn
Bore, you could use swiggle.org.uk to search for
information, videos and pictures of it. When you
have found out all you need to know, write a
paragraph of information about the Bore.

Design and draw an Ancient Egyptian mummy
case. Try to find out more about mummy cases
first, to give you ideas for your design. |If

River deep...
Ask your family to think of as many songs as
they can with the word ‘river’ in – there are
more than you might think! Write a list of the
song titles and artists and listen to some of
them. Which is your favourite, and why?
You could use www.grooveshark.com to listen
for free (ask an adult for permission to use this
website and to help you find the songs).

Find out three fascinating facts about Ancient
Egypt, and use these facts to write three
multiple choice quiz questions! You can bring
these into school and test your class mates’
knowledge of Ancient Egypt. Remember to use
question marks!
