Cinderella was never loved; ever since she was young she was always told that she was
beautiful, but she never felt it on the inside. Every time Cinderella would meet a nice guy he
would always end up hurting her by taking advantage of her kindness and doing her wrong.
Cinderella never understood why guys would treat her the way they did, she was nice, sweet, and
had a beautiful personality. There were many times Cinderella thought she was in love and
would live happily ever after but than her prince charming would end up leaving her alone in the
dust telling her some lie about why they could not be together. Cinderella tried so hard to figure
out what was it that made it so hard for her to find her prince charming, but after a while she
decided it wasn’t any use because she was the reason.
After a few more break ups Cinderella grew bitter, she was fed up with men treating her
like trash, feeling her heart with nothing but heart ache. The family tried to understand
Cinderella and why she felt the way she did but it was no use Cinderella felt the way she did and
it would only get worse. She started hating everyone; her beautiful bubbly personality became
rude and snobbish and no one, not even her family wanted to be around her. Cinderella felt weak
and because of this she would walk around town like she was better than everyone just to make
her feel better about herself. She lived with two step-sisters, step-mother, and her father her
mother had passed when she was young. Her two step-sisters were the sweetest girls you could
ever meet they were beautiful and were nice to everyone, everyone loved them.
Through envy Cinderella hated them both she despised them because every guy they met
wanted to marry them, and anyone she met marriage was the last thing on their mind. Cinderella
would play cruel tricks on them every day. One night when they were sleep she cut their hair and
hid all their clothes; anything to make them feel less beautiful, but even through all that they still
never retaliated against her. One day while taking a walk into town to think of her next plan to

ruin her sisters lives she over her two females talking, they were speaking of a ball that the
prince was having and they were discussing what color gowns they were going to wear.
Over hearing that, Cinderella came up with a brilliant idea. Knowing her sisters would
probably be going to the ball she decided that she would show up too. Only not as herself, she
would disguise herself so that no one would recognize her and steal the prince’s heart. Later, she
would rub it in her sister’s faces when they were married and reveal her. She had lost so much
hope in love her only plan was to steal his heart, take his riches and disappear when he least
expected it. That night while Cinderella was in the garden picking poison ivy to put in her sisters
bed two black dove flew down upon the poison ivy bush. They began talking to Cinderella
asking her what she planned on doing with the poison ivy she had picked, she told them her plan
and they thought and it was excellent. Cinderella began telling her next scheme of how she
would steal the prince’s heart and riches.
Immediately they wanted to help join her plan; they told her to come out to the poison ivy
bush the night of the ball and call for them. They then would appear to help her trick her sisters.
The next day was the day of the ball. Night fell and her sisters were getting ready they asked
Cinderella if she would be attending, but she told them both that the ball was for losers who
believed that true love existed, and that even if they were picked by the prince he would never
love neither of them. Once everyone had left for the ball her plan was in action she crept into the
garden went to the poison ivy bush and called out for the doves.
“O little Doves, little black doves, and you little doves from the sky come and help me
ruin my sister’s life”. She smiled with an evil grin and the doves appeared with the most
beautiful gown in their beaks. The gown shined bright gold with black buttons down her back
and these beautiful slippers made completely out of gold to match. The doves explained to her
that while wearing the beautiful clothing she would be disguised and the prince would instantly
fall in love with her, but if she ever took the dress off he would see who the real her was inside
and out. Cinderella then headed off to the ball ready to snatch the prince’s heart.
When she arrived at the ball she spotted the prince with one of her sister’s and her face
began to turn a bright green. The prince look charming and he look as if he was really into his
sister, while they were dancing they laughed and talked and he knew deep down inside she was

the one. He couldn’t take his eyes off her nobody in the room mattered…That was until
Cinderella walked over, gliding across the floor the entire party came to a halt everyone stopped
dancing and the music slowed. The prince looked over and seen the beautiful girl walking
towards him and drops her step-sisters hand. Meeting Cinderella half way, he took one look at
her and fell in deep love. Although her sister was pretty she wasn’t half as pretty as Cinderella he
knew that the girl in the gold dress would be his wife. They began talking and he wanted to meet
her family he wanted to find out where someone so beautiful could come from. He asked to walk
her home, but Cinderella knew he couldn’t find out who she really was so when he was not
looking she slipped away and ran back to the bush to change her clothes and give the dress back
to the little black doves.
Once Cinderella was gone the prince began searching all over for her he was determined
to find her and make her his wife. He was now on a hunt to find the beautiful girl from the other
night. Meanwhile Cinderella had arrived home and was already back into her regular clothing
she was preparing to set another trick up for her sisters when they walked in from the ball.
Cinderella asked them how the ball was sarcastically acting as if she cared. The one sister that
the prince almost fell in love with explained to her how this beautiful girl magically appeared
and swept the prince off his feet, although she was a little said inside she was very happy for the
girl and she wondered who she may have been. She then explained to her how the prince was on
a search for her and he was having another ball in hopes that she would return.
The next day it was time for the second ball; Cinderella waited for everyone to leave then
went back to the poison ivy bush and called out for the doves again. “O little Doves, little black
doves, and you little doves from the sky come and help me ruin my sister’s life again”. The little
doves came floating down with another dress even prettier than the last one. This one was
completely silver with white buttons down the back with a pair of matching glass slippers.
Cinderella knew she would steal his heart again and she knew he couldn’t resist her. Cinderella
entered the ball and seen prince charming awaiting her they began dancing and he feel even more
in love looking into her eyes. The end of the party came near and it was time for Cinderella to
leave. As she was walking out the prince began to follow her trying to see where she lived so he
could finally meet her parents and ask for her hand in marriage. Cinderella began to run for she
could not allow him to know where she lived and who she truly was. Trying to get away she

tripped over a branch and lost one of her shoes unable to go back and get it she finally lost him
and made it back home.
The next day there was an unfamiliar knock at the door, one of her sisters answered it,
but Cinderella paid no mind to it was she was too busy setting up her next trick to humiliate her
sisters. The prince stepped in and told the sisters that he was here to find his princess. He
explained that he looked all over the kingdom and found no one that could fit the glass slipper.
He then told them whoever can fit this class slipper will be his wife. One of the sisters tried it on
but there was no use it didn’t fit. Cinderella came over seen her sister upset because the shoe
didn’t fit and began making fun of her. The prince then asked her to try the shoe on and when
she did not fit either; Cinderella became furious yelling at the prince telling him that was her
shoe, but because she didn’t have the magic dress on from the doves the shoe would not fit her.
Only when she was portrayed as purely beautiful would it fit. Her other sister stepped into the
room and the prince asked her to try on the shoe. When she put it on it fitted perfectly, her beauty
inside and out made the shoe fit because only true beauty could fit in it. Cinderella was disgusted
that it didn’t fit and began cutting all her toes off so that her foot would fit, but after the prince
seen her hideous personality he still didn’t want her. Cinderella bleed to death and her step-sister
and the prince lived happily ever after.

CA1: Part 2
In common fairytales they are portrayed as unrealistic and many of the problems that
occur in seem so unreal. They start with a beautiful main character that is always just as equally
beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside which sets the stage for what the fairytale
definition of true beauty. For example, in the Grimm Brothers story of Cinderella she is the
sweetest person in town although she isn’t always treated fairly she remains the same. This
shows that the female that has the best physical and internal features is treated in a horrible way
almost looking down upon on for being so kind hearted.
In my revision of Cinderella by the Grimm Brothers which I have retitled as
Grimmderella, Cinderella is nothing like the character in the original version. Although she is
just as beautiful on the outside as the original Cinderella she is slightly different. Instead of being
kindhearted Cinderella is cold-hearted and bitter, unable to trust any male that steps in her lane.
After being broken hearted so much dealing with guys running in and out of her life promising to
be her prince charming Cinderella has nothing left to believe in. In my fairy tale revision I
express that physical beauty doesn’t always equal to internal beauty. Someone could be very
beautiful on the outside and be the nastiest person in the world.
This is much different from classic fairy tales as female beauty usually equates to a
beautiful and moral personality. In other words exterior beauty should always equal to interior
beauty. By making my main female character beautiful on the outside but not on the inside, I am
altering the social script that encourages women and men to believe that external female beauty
equals interior female beauty as well. If young kids were reading my revision today it would
allow to understand it’s not always being beautiful on the outside that counts.
My revision allows children to understand that it is best to have a positive attitude on the
inside just as well on out. Also, it teaches a lesson that those who are mean to others always reap
what they sow in the end so it’s best to just treat others how you would like to be treated.
Happily ever after for children would be those who are nice have nice endings and those who are
not end up alone so it’s best to be nice. All in all never allow heartache to make you bitter, and
just because one person hurt you do not mean take it out on everyone else.

The changes I made represents that outer beauty is not the only thing that matters. In my
revision instead of the glass slipper fitting Cinderella like in the classic tales it did not. This gives
a whole new outlook on the classic fairy tales, because she was no longer in the dress of the
magic birds portraying her to look as sweet on the outside as in it forced the shoe only to fit
internal beauty. My main goal in writing my revision was to allow people to understand that
fairy tales can be realistic if real actual problems are place in them.
For example, Cinderella’s bitterness came from believing in many men in her lifetime
that only wanted her for the benefit of him. This is realistic because when hurt so many times
females tend to give up on love and would not dare to give anyone a chance for the sake of
protecting their own hearts. The consequences of my changes forces Cinderella to end of alone
because of her bitterness and allows one of her sisters although she isn’t as pretty as Cinderella
to end of with the prince because she is so loving on the inside and out.
