Building Access

IceHawks and visiting teams will enter the Scottrade Center at the entrace located at 15th and Walnut

– the entrance signage reads “Press

Gate/Employee Entrance.”

Upon entering and following check in, visitors will walk downstairs to the “Event Level” of the Scottrade

Center where player locker rooms and spectator access to seats can be found.

Scottrade Center

Waivers and Neck Guards

To participate in youth hockey practices and games at the Scottrade Center, all players must sign a waiver. Waivers must be signed and collected prior to a player’s first skate.

A copy of this waiver is included at the conclusion on this packet to print, sign and return to managers. It will also be posted on www.icehawkshockey.org

. Managers will collect signed waivers. Players of all ages are also required to wear neck guards – per

Scottrade rule.

Locker Rooms

Players will be assigned one of four designated locker rooms. Players will access benches and ice through tunnels located directly in between locker rooms. There must be at least one adult in each team’s locker room when players are present. Each team must make sure the locker room is clean before leaving. Female players have designated locker rooms, as do referees.

Spectator Access and Services

Access to much of the Scottrade Center is restricted during practice and games.

All passageways are well-marked and volunteers are on hand to assist.

Parents and other spectators can access seats to watch practices and games at the entrance marked 126 on the east end of the rink.

Limited concessions (cash only) will occasionally be available. No outside food or drink is permitted – with the exception of water for players.

USA Hockey SafeSport Program

The safety of youth players is very important to USA Hockey and the

Southern Illinois IceHawks. This includes not only on-ice safety, but also off-ice safety in any part of USA

Hockey’s programs.

USA Hockey has long had systems in place to protect its participants from physical abuse, sexual abuse and other types of abuse and misconduct that can be harmful to youth hockey players. These systems include physical and/or sexual abuse prevention, locker room supervision and hazing policies, in addition to Codes of

Conduct applicable to administrators, coaches, officials, parents, players and spectators. The USA Hockey SafeSport Handbook is intended to update and collect USA Hockey’s various policies to protect its youth participants from all types of misconduct and abuse.

Beginning this season, any individual who enters locker rooms or supervises any child other than his or her own during the course of the youth hockey season is required to participate in USA Hockey SafeSport online training. This means virtually every adult in the IceHawks organization – board members, coaches, managers, parents and guardians alike – is required to complete the training.

IceHawks team managers will collect copies of the certificates awarded after successfully completing the online training course.

Visit - http://www.usahockey.com/page/show/908023-usa-hockey-safesportprogram to take the training course.

The IceHawks organization is committed to keeping our players safe – on and off the ice. Please participate in training as soon as possible.
