Launch/Anchor Concepts:

Daily Warm Up (6 th – 8 th ) Students will complete mixed review on previous lessons

(10 problems on smart board)

6 th grade – decimals

7 th /8 th grade – integers/equations

Teacher will review vocabulary from each unit.

Differentiation Groups

7 th

– Monday

– Differentiation Groups

Group 1

Students will complete computer assessments on Study Island pertaining to ratios, unit rate, and proportion

Group 2 – Students will complete notes on tables and proportional relationships

Tuesday – Thursday

Group 1 – Students will complete basic math practice on fractions (mixed numbers) and interpreting charts

Group 2 – Students will create their own proportions word problem (students who scored higher than 80% on proportions assessment from 11/13/15

Group 3 – Students will work with teacher using dry erase or smart board on equations

8 th – Differentiation Groups

Monday

Group 1 – Students will take notes and complete practice problems on Scientific Notation

Group 2 – Students who scored less that 80% on square roots/rational numbers will work on practice problems using Study Island Assessment (Laptops)

Tuesday – Thursday – Students will work on Exponents unit

Group 1 – Students will work on Scientific Notation practice problems

Group 2 – Remediation Groups for Square Roots and Equations based on unit test scores

11/8 (Students who scored less than 80% will work with teacher at the Board

Friday (11/20) – Advisement – Mr. Creger

6 th – Differentiation Groups

Monday - Thursday

Group 1 – Students will take notes and complete problems on one step equations

Group 2 – Student will complete math probes based on learning levels based on RTI and basic math computation scores

Group 3 – Students will complete Scholastic Math Magazine problems on fractions, distributive property, and interpreting graphs

Closing:

Describe how you will facilitate the closing .

Students will be complete ticket out the door daily.

Differentiation:

Groups will be based on information from assessments on 11/8 and 11/13. Students will be grouped by ability; students struggling with the concept assessed will be grouped together so that some small group teaching can happen inside the classroom.
