Communications Officer
Salary Range: 2 days per week ($60k pro rata)
Location: Pyrmont, Sydney
Contract: 6 months (with possible extension)

passionate about communications and social media to make her/his mark for a
vibrant national charity working with the marine/seafood community.
About OceanWatch Australia:
We are a national, marine environmental not for profit, recognised and supported as the marine
Natural Resource Management organisation by the Australian Government. Since our establishment
in 1989, OceanWatch has managed and delivered a broad range of successful projects to improve
environmental practices, protect threatened marine species, reduce by-catch, introduce sustainable
technologies, change behaviours and restore important marine habitats.
About the Role:
The Communications Officer role reports to the Executive Officer of OceanWatch Australia. The role
is responsible for supporting the OceanWatch Australia team in the delivery of general
communications, website development and social media activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Communications:





Assist the Management team with the Development of a Communications Plan
Develop and manage a social media communications programme
Review and collate copy and graphic design for internal and external distributions such as; enewsletters, website, social media, invitations, marketing material ;
Manage enquiries from members, stakeholders and community;
Prepare and distribute written and graphic communications that require a high level of
research, liaison, writing skills and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
