SCA Meeting 9/12/2012
I. Call to Order (Bridget, President) (3, 2, 1 clap)
II. Reading of Minutes of Previous Meeting (Jake, Secretary) – During the
summer the officers got together to plan some of events for the school year.
We talked about the SCA mission and how we can relate it to Dominions. We
want more of the member input, not just officers in leadership class.
III. Reports
a. President, Bridget
1. Welcome
2. SCA Mission
3. Introduce Executive Council – President Bridget O’Rourke,
Vice President Marisa McMahan, Secretary Jake Backers,
Treasurer Jack Kelleher, Historian Elizabeth Langager,
Parliamentarian Zara Azizian, Spirit Chairs Lauren O’Donnell
and Jasmin Simz
4. Leadership class and member relationships – both the
members and leadership class must work together to
accomplish the goals. We don’t want just the leadership class
making all the decisions; it’s your organization too.
b. Vice President, Marisa
1. Homecoming Themes, present ideas. Ask Committees to
come up with new ideas – When you’re in your committee
come up with some new themes! When you’re done, all of the
themes are posted along the wall of the auditorium. You all
have five stickers. Put the stickers on the themes you like the
most.
2. Describe 5 Homecoming Committees – There are five
homecoming committees you can be in: spirit, dance,
parade/tailgating/bonfire, powder-puff and homecoming
court. What will most likely happen is that you will just be put
in a group because most people will want the same want.
However put down your top three and if you really want to be
in those, write down ideas you have!
c. Secretary, Jake
1. Membership information – I have contact sheets for
everyone, which you must fill out. Both current and new
member will have to fill out some sort of application. It will be
located outside of Mrs. Relators room (411) on Monday. Ask
friends to join!
d. Treasurer, Jack
1. Account balance – as of now, balance is $2050.

at $1950,

1. Check out facebook for Homecoming Voting – After all of
you vote for your top five homecoming themes, we will get the
list approved by Dr. Brewer. Then once the facebook page is
made, the themes will be listed and you can vote for the
homecoming theme.
2. Picture next meeting, by committee – SCA is trying
something new this year, we want to get to know all of you
better so we want to not only have your name in book, but a
picture too! Next meeting it’s important that you are there
cause when you’re with your committee, a picture will be taken
so we can put a name with a face.
3. Lock-in? Overnight, maybe a Sunday/Saturday day – The
SCA lock-in will most likely be the weekend after homecoming
for a team building, get to know each other better lock-in.
f. Parliamentarian
1. How to speak out in the group, making notions – The way
we will carry out meetings is through Roberts rules of orders
and those procedures. Next meeting we will try to use it so
everyone can get a taste of what it will be like.
IV. Meet in Committees (Zara: count the # of people and figure out how to
divide equally- Marisa)
a. Attendance: and choose homecoming committee – you will be put
into a homecoming meeting and will be notified at a later time.
b. Team Builder: (Marisa and Jake- name game) – now to get to know
each other better, we will play a game. It’s called the name game. You
have to use an adjective that’s the same letter as your name and once
you all are done sharing, without verbal or gesture communication
you must get into alphabetical order.
