Christ Church Academy is a Middle School for children aged 9 to 13 which has expanded
over recent years because of its overwhelming popularity. As a Church of England
Academy, Christian values such as trust, friendship and thankfulness help our children learn
and grow in an atmosphere of support and acceptance.
In our drive to move from ‘Good’ back to ‘Outstanding’, from Summer 2014 we wish to
appoint a forward thinking and experienced teacher to lead our English Department.
English classes are taught in ability groups and the successful candidate will have
responsibility for raising the standards of pupil attainment and achievement alongside
monitoring and supporting pupil progress. We want a person who is able to develop an
inspirational and imaginative curriculum to engage and excite pupils of all abilities.
In addition, as the person accountable for leading, managing and further developing English
provision across the Academy, the post holder must be able to demonstrate a proven track
record of raising attainment in English and be positive about promoting Literacy across all
areas of the curriculum.
