Tender for the Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Two (2No) Elevated Steel
Tanks in Chunga and Jack Townships of Lusaka City.

Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company Limited (LWSC) has set aside funds towards the
cost of water supply improvement in Chunga and Jack Townships of Lusaka City and
intends to apply the proceeds towards payments for the contracts for the supply,
installation and commissioning of Two (2No) Elevated Steel Tank in Chunga and Jack
Townships respectively.
Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company Limited now invites sealed bids from eligible and
experienced Local Contractors registered with National Council for Construction (NCC)
in Category C, Grades 1-3 for the supply, installation and commissioning of Two (2No)
New Elevated Steel Tanks in Chunga and Jack Townships as shown in the table below:

Lot No. 1: Tank for Chunga Township
 Removal of existing tank and rehabilitation of existing
tank stand to make it suitable for installation of new
tank.
 Supply, installation and commissioning of new
elevated steel tank (1220 x 1220mm galvanized
plates at least 4.5mm thick with 3mm thick roof, the
tank shall be 8 panels long and 7 panels wide with a
height of 3 panels)

LOT No.2: Tank for Jack Township
 Removal of existing Tank, Tank Stand and Concrete
Base
 Supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of new
elevated steel stank (1220 x 1220mm galvanized
plates at least 4.5mm thick with 3mm thick roof, the
tank shall be 5 panels long and 4 panels wide with a
height of 3 panels

Bidders are free to quote for one or both lots but in any case should quote for all the
quantities under each lot. Evaluation and award of contract shall be on Lot by Lot basis or
a combination of the most economical combination.
Bidding will be conducted through Open National Bidding (ONB) procedures as stipulated
in the Public Procurement Act No.12 of 2008 and the Public Procurement Regulations,
Statutory Instrument No. 63 of 2011 and a margin of preference shall be applicable to citizen
bidders registered with the Citizen Economic Empowerment Commission as follows:
(a) Citizen Influenced Company by four percent (4%).
(b) Citizen Empowered Company by eight percent (8%).
(c) Citizen Owned Company by twelve percent (12%).
Interested bidders may purchase the bidding documents from the Procurement Department,
Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company Limited Head Office, Plot No. 871/2 Katemo Road,
Rhodes Park, P.O. Box 50198 Lusaka upon payment of a non refundable fee of ZMW500.00
or equivalent in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be by Cash or
Bank Certified Cheque issued by a recognized commercial bank. The bidding document can

Sealed and appropriately bound bids must be deposited in the Tender Box situated on
the Ground Floor, LWSC Head Office, Reception Area, on or before Friday, 14th August
2015 at 10:00 hours local time and must be accompanied by a bid security of not less
than 2% of the total bid sum. Electronic bids will not be accepted. Late Bids Shall be
rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders or their representatives who
choose to attend in person at the address below at 10:00 hour’s local time, Friday, 14th
August 2015.
Site Visitation is mandatory and will be conducted on Friday, 24th July 2015 at 08:30
Hours. Bidders shall make their own transport arrangements to the sites.
