Purpose: OSPI, Microsoft, and CCI Learning have teamed up to provide a comprehensive package of
software, curriculum and certification resources for 21st century skills development.

Average and range of funding per beneficiary, 2014-15 school year: All high schools in Washington
State are fully funded to implement IT Academy and to have students test for certifications.

Evaluations of program/major findings: Certification and testing tracked weekly with annual
reports of data such as that in Question 8.
12. Major challenges faced by the program: Finding ways for all districts to take advantage of the
available resources the program has to offer.
13. Future opportunities: Continued integration of technology in the classroom. Student success in use
of technology tools.
14. Statutory and/or Budget language:
Budget Proviso: ESSB 6052, Sec. 4-1510 (8) - $2,000,000 of the general fund--state appropriation for
fiscal year 2014 and $2,000,000 of the general fund--state appropriation for fiscal year 2015 are
provided solely for a statewide information technology (IT) academy program. This public-private
partnership will provide educational software, as well as IT certification and software training
opportunities for students and staff in public schools.
15. Other relevant information: Goals and objectives established for the program have been met or
exceeded in FY 15 results. Again, can be seen in data in question 8.
Three students qualify and competed at the National CCI Microsoft Championships.
