BodyFx Non-Invasive Body Contouring

INFORMATION & TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

U Cosmetic has the BodyFx for non-invasive body shaping and contouring.

BodyFx uses next generation radiofrequency (RF) energy for non-invasive fat metabolism enhancement and lipolysis (fat cell destruction). The RF energy is combined with vacuum suction to pull the area closer to the treatment head (allowing deeper levels of fat to be targeted) and a high amplitude electrical pulse to optimize and prime fatty tissue to stimulate fat metabolism and breakdown as well as destroying some of the fat cell membranes. This combination of vacuum, electrical pulse and RF energy provides permanent destruction of unwanted fat cells. Target temperatures are reached quickly and uniformly allowing for optimal prolonged exposure at therapeutic temperatures. BodyFx has built in skin temperature feedback and cut-off mechanism to provide immediate feedback to the technician allowing for maximized treatment in a safe environment and also allowing for maximum comfort.

Non-invasive BodyFx body contouring treats excess fatty tissue, around the abdomen, flanks, back, buttocks, thighs and arms. There is minimal discomfort and no downtime. BodyFx heats up fat cells, stimulating fat metabolism and breakdown, as well as destroying some of the fat cells membranes. All these effects lead to circumference reduction and body contouring. While the primary target of the treatment is fatty tissue, there are secondary effects of improvement in cellulite appearance and skin tightening. RF hand pieces focus energy right where it is needed, improving treatment outcomes in a comfortable manner. Improvements continue long after the treatment series is completed. Maintenance treatments will help keep this remodeling process ongoing.

BodyFx is indicated for individuals within a healthy weight (eg BMI 18-25) who have small areas of excess fatty tissue. While there may be benefits to treatment outside this range, it is important to know that BodyFx treatments are not for weight loss. A series of 8 treatments will be recommended to achieve desired results. Some may require more to achieve desired results and some may require less. Maintenance sessions may be required periodically starting in a few months after series completion according to individual responses. It is important to comply with the treatment schedule otherwise results may be compromised. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and weight throughout the treatment series and afterwards will maximize results. Once fat cells are destroyed they cannot be regenerated however the remaining fat cells can increase or decrease in size causing weight changes. In other words, treatments cannot stop fat cells from storing more fat if excess calories are consumed or new cellulite from forming. Being well hydrated for your treatment is important for results. It is not recommended to exercise within

BodyFx Non-Invasive Body Contouring – Information & Treatment Instructions two hours or less before your session. You can return to regular activity immediately after treatment, exercising after treatment is recommended! This will prolong the effect! Not everyone is a candidate for BodyFx. Treatments also cannot stop fat cells from storing more fat if excess calories are consumed or new cellulite from forming. Mild to moderate conditions respond better then advanced forms of volume excess, cellulite or loose skin. The treatments can be 15-

60 minutes long. Longer appointments are recommended for larger body areas. BodyFx cannot completely remove fat, loose skin or cellulite. A very small number do not respond to radiofrequency treatments at all and some may require more than the recommended number of treatments to achieve satisfactory results. Results start to appear four to six weeks after the start of treatment and continue for another four to six weeks after completion of the treatment series.

Results vary between individuals. Some people exceed our expectations and some people respond below expectations.

Although good results are expected, with the focus on improvement and not perfection, every person is unique and it is impossible to guarantee results.

Expected side effects include redness lasting up several hours after treatment and occasionally a few discrete tender areas or bruising that may persist up to a few days. Occasionally the vacuum may cause small red spots or petechia (small broken blood vessels) to appear and persist for a few days. During the treatment, the area will be warmed up and a pulse will be delivered to target area. Initially this pulse can be surprising and usually not uncomfortable. Most individuals get accustomed very quickly. Let your technician know if you experience any discomfort or shock sensation. Less likely to rarely a changes to the colour of the skin (hyper- or hypopigmentation), small skin burn or temporary swelling may occur due to the heat generated in the skin and fatty tissue. Very rare risks would include a blister or small dimpled scar . There may also be changes in cholesterol levels. Cholesterol changes are thought to be transient in healthy individuals but is impossible to predict at this time.
