Hold the date: Wednesday 25th November 2015
14:00 – 16:30
Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield
The Yorkshire and Humber Strategic Clinical Network is developing a standardised,
evidence-based, high value care pathway for prostate cancer. The pathway will optimise
care across Yorkshire and Humber and will aim to ensure consistent and high quality
support is available to all, no matter where they live within Yorkshire and Humber. A
standardised, timed pathway with clear decision making points and criteria will ensure all
patients have access to optimal treatment and services.
There will be opportunities to showcase excellence and innovation in prostate cancer care
across Yorkshire and Humber.
This meeting will engage stakeholders to seek agreement on how to develop the pathway
and guidance to improve quality, experience and efficiency and seek agreement to form a
Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Expert Group for Prostate Cancer to drive improvements.
The pathway and guidance will also consider relevant recommendations from the Cancer
Taskforce report: Achieving World-Class Cancer Outcomes: A Strategy for England 20152020.

The pathway will be developed in collaboration with patients, clinicians and
commissioners.

A Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Expert Group for Prostate Cancer will be set up with
representation from service users, consultant surgeons, oncologists, radiologists,
pathologists, cancer nurse specialists, allied health professionals, CCG cancer
commissioning leads, health providers and public health colleagues.

The pathway and guidance will be informed by outputs from the national Clinical
Reference Group for Urology and recent locality quality improvement prostate
pathway reviews.
