Middle School Associate Principal
Job Description
Qualifications:
Valid Nebraska Administrator’s endorsement on a current Nebraska Teaching certificate.
Responsible to:
Middle School Principal
The Associate Principal is responsible for:
1.
Assisting in developing and providing instructional programs for staff.
2.
Maintaining and providing for an effective learning environment.
3.
Carrying out the directives and policies as established by the Board of Education and the
Superintendent of Schools.
4.
Carrying out duties as assigned by the Principal
1.
Instructional Planning and Development
1.1 Share in construction of the Master Schedule
1.2 Assist in curriculum review and development
1.3 Assist in providing in-service programs for certified personnel
2.
Personnel Administration
2.1 Assist in the supervision of instruction including pre and post-observation
conferences, using the North Platte Public Schools Evaluation Procedure
2.2 Assist in writing summative evaluations and conducting conferences with certified
personnel
2.3 Assist in the interviewing and selection of teacher candidates
2.4 Assist in the supervision of classified personnel
3.
General Management and Administration
3.1 Assists in the reporting of damage of school materials or facilities
3.2 Carries out directives from the Superintendent of Schools
3.3 Revises and prints student handbooks
4.
Student Personnel
4.1 Shares in student management
4.2 Coordinates the keeping of attendance of students and student records
5.
Student Activities
5.1 Shares in supervision of co-curricular activities
6.
School Community Relations
6.1 Assists in interpreting and explaining the programs and policies at North Platte High
School
6.2 Maintains communication with agencies and support groups.
7.
Personal Professional Development
7.1 Attends seminars/conferences as directed
7.2 Reads current periodicals and literature pertinent to school administration
8.
Terms of Employment
8.1 The Associate Principal’s contract shall be 219 days
8.2 The Associate Principal’s salary will be established by The Superintendent of
Schools
9.
Evaluation
9.1 The Associate Principal’s job performance evaluated by the Principal in accordance
with the provisions of the Board of Education policy on evaluation of professional
personnel.
