Electronic Health Record Stage 2 Final Rule Released, Creates
Hardship Exemption for Anesthesiologists
The final rule includes new exemptions. “While this is a positive
step forward, it is not yet a permanent fix. This exemption is subject
to annual renewal. We will continue to work with CMS as it begins
to address Stage 3 of the EHR Incentive Program.”

AAP Releases New Report on Essential Health Benefits for Children

AAP compared coverage and costs for the 10 required EHB
categories. The Academy found that “geographic, cost and
coverage inconsistencies” existed within the Essential Health Benefit
for children. According to AAP, this shows problems with HHS’s
benchmarks.
