Please note that the telephones are switched over to the Out of Hours service from 6.00 pm until 8.00 am on weekdays and on Saturdays and Sundays. On a Wednesday
afternoon the practice is closed for training purposes and is covered by Aldbrough Surgery from 12 noon. Their telephone number is 01325 374332.
Cancelling Your Appointment
Help us to reduce the waiting time to see GPs and other Health Professionals by cancelling your appointment if it is no longer required. We will write to patients who do
not attend their appointments. We would welcome your suggestions on how we can reduce our "did not attend" rate.
Travel Vaccinations/Yellow Fever
Travel vaccinations can be administered at the surgery. We are a designated Yellow Fever centre. Patients can fill out a form prior to their appointment which will save t
ime on the day of appointment.
Repeat Prescriptions Repeat Prescriptions can be requested by handing the repeat slip into the practice, by telephoning the prescription line on 01325 730204 or via the
website. This service will be more convenient for patients who have difficulty in accessing the surgery during Normal opening times. The usual 48 hour time frame still
applies.

Dr Lizzie Neville has had her baby (little girl) and is on Maternity Leave until March 2016. Dr Audrey Smith will be covering 3 session a week and
Dr Toby Fagan will be covering 1 session a week. Hazel Robinson (Dispenser/Receptionist) is staying as a permanent member of our team.
ELE-KIOSK – The Friends and Family Test on the Ele-Kiosk will replace the usual GP Survey. Information from this will be collated by the local CCG’s from
the data entered onto the Ele-Kiosk. You can also fill in a paper questionnaire - these are on the table with the magazines or just ask at the Reception desk.

CARING FOR CARERS – We are holding Annual Health checks for all our carers (20 minutes appointment with the practice nurse) and Nicky Tulloch from the
Carers Association who will give you advice on what is available to help you with your very important role as a carer. Please call the surgery and make an appointment.

PPG – Our Patient Reference Group meets quarterly at the practice on a Monday evening 6.00pm please contact the surgery for more information.
Our next meeting will be at the surgery on Monday 25th January at 6.00pm. PPG members wished to express thanks and gratitude on behalf of Gainford Surgery
patients to our GPs and all staff for their car.

We have Leaflets with information on CQC next to the Check in Board - Please feel free to take these leaflets
Pre-payment certificates - This is an excellent service provided by the Prescription Pricing Authority which keeps the cost down for a patient who has 2 or more repeat
items each month, this card will also cover the patient for any acute items they might require as well as any other medication that may be added to their repeat
prescription.
Making an Appointment
Appointments are normally 10 minutes long. Certain procedures require longer. Please inform the receptionist if you require any of these procedures so they can give you the correct ti
me needed. Please see the list below;
Double appointments are required for: Smears, Ear Syringing, ECG, Coil Fitting, Hearing Tests and Travel Vaccinations
Triple appointments are required for: Spirometry, COPD Review.
Suggestion Box - A suggestion box has been placed in the outer foyer for your comments and suggestions. There were not any patient suggestions this quarter.
Lost Property - We have a number of items at the surgery if you think you may have lost something here, please call in at reception.
