Notes
First talk to us
Callaghan Innovation strongly advises applicants to discuss their plans to apply for R&D Student
Fellowships with Callaghan Innovation before preparing a proposal. This advice is critical because
significant changes to the Business R&D Grants were announced in July 2013. Please contact your
designated Callaghan Innovation Investment Manager or Client Solutions Manager, your Regional
Business Partner or phone Callaghan Innovation on 0800 4 CALLAGHAN. We’ll help you identify the best
approach for support, based on the business outcome you are trying to achieve.
R&D Student Fellowship
R&D Student Fellowships encourage R&D intensive businesses to involve students undertaking Masters or
PhD research in their R&D programmes.
This new scheme has a strong focus on the student:
•
the student must gain technical R&D experience that is relevant to their degree,
•
the business must support the student’s professional development, and
•
the involvement of the student must support the development of the businesses’ internal capability.
Have you identified a student?
You must have identified a student and have sign-off from their university before applying for an R&D
Student Fellowship. A university’s research office can help you identify a student and an academic
supervisor.
Cut and paste into portal
Please use this template to prepare your application for R&D Student Fellowship funding. You can insert
your answers into this template after each question. Then, once the portal is open you can cut and paste
