8 Different biomes of the world

There are 8 types of biomes in the world there are six land biomes and two water biomes. The first land biome that I will talk about is the Tundra. The Tundra is very cold year round. The tundra is located on the top of the earth, it is called the Arctic. You may also find the tundra on the bottom of the earth which is called Antarctica. The types of animals that you will find in the tundra are; caribou, artic fox, and polar bears. Type of plants that you may find in the tundra are; Pasque Flower, Labrador Tea, and Artic Willow. In the tundra polar bears use camouflage because of their white fur to hide in the snow. And the artic fox is a scavenger which means that after another animal has killed its prey the fox then goes and eats the left over’s.

Another type of land biomes is the Taiga. The taiga is found mostly in Canada. It is very cold in the taiga. Most of the rain in the taiga happens during the summer and 33-84 cm of rain fall each year. Types of animals that you will find in the taiga are; American black bear, grizzly bear and bobcat. Types of plants that you may find in the taiga are; White spruce, Jack pine, and White fir. Two types of relationships that these animals use would be territoriality like the bear will scratch on the trees to mark where they live. And also a bear shows mutualism with

berries because when a bear eats a berry it leaves seeds and spreads them everywhere so the berries get around.

Temperate Forest is another land biome. The temperate forest can be found in the eastern half of North America. It is cold in winters and nice and warm in the summer. Also it has

100-150 cm of rain per year. Type of animals that you will find there are squirrels, skunks, and deer. Type of plants that you will find there are bushes, maple trees, and trees with many leaves. The plants in the temperate rain forest practice dormancy in which plants sort of hibernate like animals do.

Tropical Rain Forest, that land biome has very heavy rain and it is also very humid. Rain falls from 50-260 cm of rain every year. This biome is found near the equator. This means that it gets very hot and wet. Types of animals that you will find in this biome are Bengal tiger, sloths, and King Cobra. Typical plants that you may find in this biome are Coconut trees, Figs, and

Bamboo. When the king cobra eats other animals that is called predator prey. Also dormancy happens whenever a plant starts to loose their leaves and shutdown.

Desert has animals like scorpions, tortoise, and lizards. Also you can find plants like cacti, Palo Verde, and bushes. The temperature over there can be extremely hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. It is also very dry, the amount of rain that falls every year is 2 cm of rain. Many plants in the desert practice dormancy because the lack of water and heat. Animals like the coyotes practice territoriality by marking their territory.

The last land biome is grassland. Grassland biomes are big, rolling terrains of grasses, flowers and herbs. The temperature can be very hot. The amount of rain that falls is about 50-80 cm a year.

Plants that you will typical find are Flowers, grass and bushes. Types of animals that you will find are giraffes, lions and eagles. A relationship that animals practice is predator prey when an animal hunts.

And territoriality when a lion marks its territory.

Now we move on to water biomes and one of them is salt water. Salt water is any body of water that surrounds land, ocean and seas. This biome contains plants like plankton seaweed and algae. It also may contain animals like sharks, rays, and whales. When a ray can blend with the bottom of the surface it is called camouflage. Also a way of commensalism is when a whale eats and a shark gets the whales leftovers.

Our last biome is fresh water
