REGISTERED MANAGER

Accountable to:
Directors of Care Services
Job Purpose:






In liaison with the Directors of Care and Business Development Manager, to
develop and market a range of new and flexible services to private clients, in
line with Triangle’s strategic growth plans (approximately 50% of role).
To manage the care and support team including Team Leaders, Lead Care and
Support Workers, Care and Support Workers, Client Services Coordinators and
Administrators.
To ensure the provision of high quality care by working creatively with service
users and their carers / families to promote independence and to reduce the
impact of disability or illness on their lives.
To ensure that adequate systems and procedures in line with the requirements
of the Care Quality Commission, The Care Act and other relevant legislation and
standards are implemented and are maintained.
To work in partnership with colleagues across Triangle Community Services to
ensure the smooth and efficient maintenance of the organisation.
To promote the additional services that Triangle is able to offer as part of
Friends of the Elderly in order to add value, such as the recruitment of
volunteers, befriending and campaigning.
Core responsibilities to the team and organisation
Managing staff
 Oversee the day to day management of the care and support services.
 Take part in the recruitment, induction and training of staff and encourage and
facilitate staff in undertaking personal learning and development opportunities.
 Ensure the supervision and appraisal of staff under your management and
promote a culture where improvement and lifelong learning are the norm.
 Have a role in any disciplinary or grievance issues that may arise within your
team
 Arrange the provision of out of hours ‘on call’ back up to care staff

Managing information and systems
 Take the lead in your area for the implementation of the Essential Standards of
Quality and Safety, and lead on inspections and contract monitoring visits.
 Carry out risk assessments and ensure that staff are aware of and follow
policies and procedures.
 Produce information and reports as required.
 Produce monitoring reports and to attend any meetings as required.
 Responsible for managing budgets.







Ensure that complaints raised are addressed through the appropriate channels
and in accordance with our complaints policy.
Core responsibilities to the people you support
Managing the provision of care contracts in line with the requirements of the
Care Quality Commission and of the commissioners.
 Ensure the provision of personal, social and domestic support to service users
in their own homes, respecting the wishes and rights of the individual and
promoting their independence and safety.
To liaise with individuals, care purchasers and other agencies to ensure quality
of service
 Ensure the assessment of potential service users at the start of service and
ensure completion of risk assessment and reviews, during the period of service
with the aim of enabling service users to remain in their own homes and
maximise their independence.
 Develop care plans with service users and ensure their implementation,
enabling and supporting service users to make or participate in making
decisions regarding their care, treatment and support.
 Ensure all records relating to the service user are maintained.
 Liaise with the commissioners and establish networks and contacts with
purchasers and providers.
 Respond to complaints and comments about service provision and recognise
and take appropriate action regarding safeguarding concerns.


All staff are expected to:
Ensure critical services are covered, if necessary providing care and support
services personally.
Take responsibility for personal health and safety and the health and safety of
the workforce and service users including maintaining equipment and ensuring

the standard of hygiene of all premises and equipment is appropriate to the
purpose for which they are being used.
Ensure that service users are protected from abuse and improper treatment and
take necessary action in respect of any suspected wrongdoing. Ensure
compliance with our safeguarding procedures.
Respond to emergencies outside office hours as part of senior team and
required.

Develop and market a range of new services through liaising with the Business
Development Manager, develop and promote a range of new and flexible
services for private clients.

All staff must respect the confidentiality of any matters they may learn in the course of
their duties relating to service user, staff and the general public as well as matters of
business concerning the Charity.
