According to Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing policy, a grade of “C” is required in all courses in the nursing major. A student is only allowed to repeat a nursing course one time and can only repeat a maximum of two courses in order to continue in the nursing major.

Learning Accommodations:

Students who are seeking support services from the Baylor University Office of Access and Learning

Accommodation on the basis of diagnosed disability are required to submit documentation to verify eligibility under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. According to Baylor University's policy, all students seeking accommodations must submit official letters from the Office of Access and

Rounding Policy :

Individual assignments and test grades will be carried out to the second decimal place throughout the semester. Final course grades will be recorded as a whole number. There will be no rounding of the final course grade.

Attendance

Attendance is consistent with Baylor University policy. The student is required to attend all scheduled course sessions in any setting – classroom, school, laboratory, client care laboratory, etc., unless serious personal or family illness or accident prevent him/her from doing so. Any student who is not present for at least 80% of scheduled class sessions will automatically receive a grade of “F in the course.

Examination and Delayed Examinations and Use of Resources During Examinations

Policies and procedures related to examinations and make-up examinations are enforced and explained in detail in the Student Information Guide.

Notice: If the instructor is not notified by the student in advance of an excused absence as per the student handbook guidelines, the instructor has the prerogative to deny the student the opportunity to take a make-up exam which will result in an exam grade of zero . Exams missed due to illness or other excused absences must be made up within 1 week. During regular semesters test make-up time posted for each Friday 1:00-3:00 during the noon break in classes. Alternate exams, both format and questions may be used.

No references or resources other than the calculators provided by the School of Nursing will be permitted during exams.

It is a violation of the Honor Code for a student to disclose the contents of any examination .

For graded assignments other than exams, faculty may deduct points for work which is turned in late.

Honor Code

All students’ conduct while attending Baylor University must adhere to the provisions of the

Baylor University Honor Code. Students must be familiar with the Honor Code and actions in the classroom, lab and clinical site which would result in an Honor Code violation. Honor

Code violations can result in sanctions including failure from the course, probation, suspension,

Classroom Courtesy

If you have a beeper/pager, cellular phone or PDA, please turn them to silent mode. If you arrive after class has begun please do not allow the door to slam, seat yourself quietly. If you feel the need to talk to a peer during class please leave the room in deference to your peers.
