Orientation
Procedure
New associate orientation will begin on associate’s first day of employment at <Your Business
Name Here>. Orientation will last approximately one month. During this time, it is the
manager’s responsibility to ensure that all items on the orientation checklist have been
completed. An item is “completed” when the new associate understands and feels comfortable
with the information regarding that item. It is the new associate’s responsibility to ask questions
to ensure an understanding of each item before signing off.
The <list positions involved in orientation>, and Occupational Health & Safety Committee are all
responsible for certain parts of the new associate’s orientation. These areas are listed on the
orientation checklist.
The new associate will have weekly (or more frequent) one-on-one meetings with his or her
manager to discuss the progress being made on the orientation checklist. If the associate
requires further assistance on any item, it is the manager’s responsibility to organize further
training (either from his/herself or another <Your Business Name Here> associate).
The orientation checklist will be kept by the manager until completed. This checklist will then be
placed in the associate’s personnel file.
