Academic staff are expected to be pro-active in managing their own careers. However
the School and Heads of Unit also have a responsibility to ensure that the appropriate
support is in place.
The Career Development Meeting is intended to allow for an open and constructive
exchange of views, which as well as taking into account future plans enables a review
of past achievements and experience. Further guidance on the Academic Career
Development Scheme can be found on the LSE Human Resources website here.
Please attach a current CV in the School standard template, available on the LSE
Human Resources website here, along with guidance for completion here.

agreed in the previous Review.
2. Teaching Profile please provide a self-evaluative statement focussing on achievements
over the last review period, including comments on any teaching scores available, teaching
observations where these have taken place, your teaching workload, your pedagogic
approach, and on proposed future plans and innovations.
3. Research Profile: please provide a self-evaluative statement focussing on achievements
over the last review period, drawing attention to any publications, grants and other research
outputs and your likely REF contribution and commenting on your understanding of how your
achievements relate to departmental and School priorities,

4. Contributions to departmental and School citizenship and administrative functions: please
provide a self-evaluative statement of the contributions you have made to departmental and
School activities over the last review period and your plans for further development
5. External, professional and other activities: please provide a self-evaluative statement of the
external and professional activities in which you have been involved and your plans for their
development.
6. Departmental support: please summarise any departmental and School support that has
been of particular value this year, and suggest how the department and School could assist
you in reaching your goals in the year ahead.
