Colon Rectal Surgeon Joins Buffalo Medical Group
WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – Brian Matier, MD, has joined the Buffalo Medical Group, PC, (BMG) as a
colon rectal surgeon.
Prior to joining Buffalo Medical Group, Dr. Matier completed a Colon & Rectal Surgery
fellowship at the University of Buffalo.
Dr. Matier is an honors graduate of Brock University with a bachelor’s degree of science in
biotechnology, and is a cum laude graduate of St. George’s University School of Medicine,
Grenada, West Indies where he received his doctor of medicine. He completed his general
surgery residency at the Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester, New Rochelle New York,
and was chief resident in general surgery at Danbury Hospital, Danbury, Connecticut.
He is board certified in general surgery and is an associate fellow of the American College of
Surgeons. In addition to a full range of screening and preventive colon rectal services like
colonoscopies, Dr. Matier has a special interest in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. He
also treats such conditions as Crohn's Disease, ulcerative colitis, hemorrhoids and incontinence.
Dr. Matier is affiliated with Kaleida Health’s Buffalo General Medical Center and Millard
Fillmore Suburban, and Catholic Health’s Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, and Sisters of Charity
