Attendance: One of our key priorities in our School Improvement Plan (SIP) is to continue
95.6%
improving attendance at our school. If children are not in school, they are missing vital
lessons. I wish to thank everyone last week for the concerted effort to ensure good attendance. All classes of full-time
pupils achieved 95% or above. I would be very grateful if we could really try to increase the attendance of our Nursery
and Reception class.
Swimming: This week, Miss Smith’s class will be swimming each morning. This vital life-skill is imperative and we
firmly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn to swim. Even though it is expensive, we cover the
vast majority of the transport cost in order to enable children at our school to develop their water skills. It could save
their lives one day and for us, that is priceless.
We NEVER make a profit from bus/trip money. We do not believe in exploiting our families in this manner. We always subsidise trip costs
and frequently make a great loss. However, it is essential that our children learn from first hand experiences in order to develop and grow
along their educational journey. Thank you for enabling us to continue organising exciting and memorable school trips.
Making their learning ‘real’ enables our children to remember vital lessons long into the future.
Without the support of all families, sadly, these trips will be a thing of the past as we rely on voluntary contributions. Please keep these
fabulous experiences alive for our children. If you have any difficulty with the voluntary contribution, PLEASE come and see Mr Thomas
ASAP. Thank you.
