GENERAL
Mid-Term is Monday. Term 2 ends on Mon, Nov. 7.
Volleyball:
9th Grade at Waynesville and V at Grain
Valley on Saturday.
Barnwarming is Friday. The dance will be from 7:00 –
11:00 PM. Admission is $3 per person or $5 per couple. All
HS students 9-12 are invited to attend.
If your guest is
from another school you need to sign them up – you will
need to know their first and last name, school they attend
and the grade they are currently in. The sign-up sheet is in
the office.
Cross Country: The Fatima CC Inv. is Sat, Oct. 22, 2:00.
StuCo: Student Council must put their shirt sizes on the
wall outside of Mrs. Hoffman’s room TODAY.
7th and 8th Grade Girls: If you are interested in playing
competitive basketball, attend the following open gyms/tryouts in Fatima’s main gym. If you are interested, please
pick up a flyer in the HS office listing open gym / tryout
dates and times. Practices will begin the Sunday following
tryouts.
The league schedule will not start until late Jan
and will run through Mid-March. Games are on Saturdays
with pre and post-season tournaments. If you are serious
about playing for the Lady Comets, this league is an
excellent prep for HS basketball!
Picture Re-Takes: Interstate Studios will be here on
Friday, October 28 for re-takes. If you had your picture
taken and you ordered a package but wish to have your
picture retaken, please remember you will have to return
the original package.
FCCLA: Any junior or senior FCCLA member that is
interested in government is eligible to attend a legislative
shadowing conference on Feb 21 and 22. If you are
interested in learning more about how our government
works and would like to attend please see Mrs. Libbert
ASAP. Applications are due soon!
All FCCLA Members: Our first service project/fun night is
scheduled for Friday, Oct. 21st. The service project is from
3:15 – 6:00 and the movie night is from 6:00 – 9:00.
Everything will be held in the FACS room. You will be
receiving notices with more information on this event on
your lockers.
Yearbooks: Yearbooks are on sale this week for $28
before school, during homeroom and at lunch.
SPORTS
REMINDER: Absolutely no passes are valid for admission
into District, Sectional or State tournaments. Schools
hosting the tournaments are required to charge admission
per MSHSAA guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to
senior citizens, Lion’s members, KC members, all students,
parents, etc. Please remember that if you don’t have a
district pass issued by MSHSAA, age 5 and up will be
charged admission.
Please remember local passes also are not valid for
admission into our own tournaments. This includes the
athletic passes earned for advanced or proficient on the
MAP tests, family passes, etc.
Softball: The Lady Comets defeated Blair Oaks last night
advancing to the Quarterfinals on Saturday. The team
would like to thank all of the fans who came to watch the
game last night – thank you for your support!
Boys Soccer: V/JV will host JC on Mon, Oct. 17 at 5:00.
They travel to Stover on Thurs, Oct. 20 for a 5:00 start.
JH Basketball: 8th Grade Girls won 35-33 in double OT
last night. Way to go, ladies! They play Chamois tonight at
8:15. Boys play at Cuba on Fri night – 5:00 tip-off.

Sophomore PLAN Test: Oct 19 during morning classes.
Fatima will be hosting a Boater Safety Course Sat., Nov.
5 from 8-2 – anyone can attend! Bring money for lunch or
bring

that
day.

is not sufficient interest, it will not be held.
Students in grades 9-12: The American legion is again
hosting the High School Oratorical Scholarship Program for
chances to win up to $2000 in MO and up to $18,000 on the
national level. Prepare a speech of less than 5 min on a
given topic. Nov. 30 deadline - See Mueller for forms.
The Horatio Alger Assn There are eligibility requirements
to be considered for Nat’l Scholarships and Horatio Alger
State
Scholarships
that
can
be
found
at
www.horatioalger.org/scholarships. The application is also
available online at that website. The association has
Collegiate Partners who will match any scholarship
awarded by the Horatio Alger Ass’n.
