2010 – 2011 Report Card
C2C has had another great year of providing supplies to the teachers and students of Durham
Public Schools. Here are some of the highlights from the past school year:
 C2C launched a monthly shopping program for teachers from Glenn Elementary
School. Teachers were invited to shop once a month from September to May
instead of having to wait for their school to be invited for a giveaway event. The
program was a huge success and C2C looks forward to adding additional schools
to the monthly shop program for the 2011-2012 school year.
 In November, we moved into new location – 1005 Holloway Street in Durham. At
our new location, we have plenty of parking for teachers and volunteers. We can
now accept palletized donations.
 In January, C2C and a group of students from Duke piloted the Supply A+ School
program at Eastway Elementary. We were able to provide a mid-year refresh of
school supplies for all of the students (Pre-K to 5th grade) at the school. In
addition, we donated copy paper and other classroom supplies for teachers.
 Throughout the school year, C2C collected quantitative data from teacher
shoppers. Here’s what we learned:
o C2C meets a need in the community – 20% of teachers reported that
their school is able to provide basic school supplies for their students.
o Durham students are better off because of C2C – 96% of teachers
reported that receiving school supplies from C2C will enhance their
student’s ability to learn.
o Durham teachers are better off because of C2C – 95% of teachers
reported that receiving supplies from C2C would allow them to improve
the implementation of their instruction.
 C2C had almost 500 teachers shop at our retail store during the 2010-2011 school
year. We provided $48,000 worth of school supplies to teachers and students in
Durham Public Schools.
