Group Theory Lessons are compulsory for all pupils. There are a few
instances though, where pupils are exempt from taking these classes:





Subject Music Pupils.
Girls who can provide written proof that they are taking lessons outside of
school and can provide the DSG Music Department with the name and number
of their teacher outside of school.
Girls who have already completed a Grade 5 Theory Examination through
UNISA, ABRSM or TCL and can present a certificate to substantiate this
achievement.
Girls who are in Grade 12 in school.
School Grade 1 pupils. (Theory lessons only start in Grade 2 of school.)
PLEASE NOTE THAT A TERM’S NOTICE IS REQUIRED IN
WRITING AT TERMINATION OF LESSONS.
