The Seward County Community College/Area Technical School Music Department provides a well-balanced educational experience
through classroom communication, ensemble performance, private study, and active listening.
Music and non-music majors have the opportunity to participate in all music courses for personal, artistic, and intellectual

Students can receive an Associate of Arts degree from Seward County Community College/Area Technical
School to give them a solid foundation of courses and enable them to transfer to a four-year college or
university. This two-year course of study requires the completion of a minimum of 64 credit hours.
Advising
Your SCCC/ATS Music Department adviser will help you plan your course of study and will outline the
specific requirements for completion of an associate’s degree. You need to contact the Admissions Office
to visit the campus and meet with an adviser at the time of your visit. The music course of study is
designed to prepare the student for transfer into a university program to complete a bachelor’s degree in
music.
Facilities
At SCCC/ATS, you will have access to up-to-date computer labs, software, and the Internet, as well as a
full range of library services.
Clubs/Organizations
All students at SCCC/ATS have the opportunity to join the various vocal and instrumental groups in their
area of interest.
