EKHUFT – The geography and challenges



> 500 trainees in 3 Hospitals, each with a fully staffed Education
Centre and Clinical Skills lab.
Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital (Margate)
Kent and Canterbury Hospital (Canterbury)
William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)
Devon House – a stand alone building, within walking distance from
QEQMH. Identified as the site for development to provide
increased Simulation training and now in receipt of award and
monies to support this development.

Agreed need for administrator and job plan in progress
Invitation for Faculty Group lead
Devon House upgrade agreed and funded….to start ? Sept.
Collaborate with Devon House team to consider how to deliver
Simulation on each site as well as within specific facility.
Trainer debriefing training.
Each Speciality lead to promote Simulation…liaising across the
Deanery and locally as appropriate.
Medicine is starting to write / collect scenarios linked to core
curriculum which can flex according to level of trainee and assess
various skills including knowledge, application, communication and
leadership.
