THERMOSCAN
A Device for detection of Inflammatory Pain,
Vascular Disorders and Breast Cancer.

THERMOSCAN
Introduction
 Thermoscan is a noninvasive, painless and no harmful imaging
technology that allows the physician
physiological dynamics at an early stage.
to
visualize
the
 Thermoscan converts infrared radiation emitted from the skin
surface into electrical impulses that are visualized in colour on a
monitor. This visual image graphically maps the body
temperature and is referred to as a thermogram. The spectrum of
colours indicate an increase or decrease in the amount of
infrared radiation being emitted from the body surface
 Thermoscan clinical value is in its high sensitivity to pick up
pathological changes due to diseases of muscular, skeletal,
vascular systems at just aberrant physiological level itself.
7
Potential Application areas
 Rheumatology
 Orthopedics
 Neurology
 Sports medicine
 Oncology
 Physiotherapy
 Diabetes ( Endocrinology)
 Pain Management
 Radiology
 Wound Healing
8
Clinical Implications
 Diabetic foot care
 Assessing stage of wound healing
 Diagnosing and Imaging pain ( Distinguishing
Inflammatory and Neuropathic pain)
 Screening of the Breast Cancer
 Assessing the response of disease to treatments
9
Diabetic foot care
 Diabetic foot problem is the
most common reason for
patient admissions to hospital
worldwide.
 Diabetic foot care is the most
vital factor for control of
blood glucose.
