Look up the specifications
This is usually done on Alldata or Mitchell OnDemand.
Some type of Manual, Book or Electronic Information Service.
Example
Spark plug Gap 1.0 - 1.1 mm (0.039-0.043 in)
1.2 - 1.3 mm (0.047-0.051 in)
Torque
18 N.m (13 lb.ft)
You will need a gapping tool
Center & Side Electrode
Do not put any
Pressure on the
Center Electrode
Bend only the side
Electrode
Take the gapping tool and find
out what the gap is.
Take the gapping tool and find
out what the gap is. Wire Gauge
Bend the Side Electrode to the
proper size.
Recheck the gap to make sure it is right.
Some spark plugs cannot be
gapped.
Most new spark plugs should be
gapped to the proper specifications
right out of the box.
