Seven Best Practices
1. Track emergency department visits to avoid ED

• If you aren’t sure, call the nurse line or your
primary care physician
• For ear aches and sore throats, make an
appointment with your primary care physician
• When you have a doctor’s appointment, ask
what you should do if you need care after
hours or on weekends
