DESCRIPTION OF THE INITIATIVE
 Organize small greenhouse farmers into cluster and
support them in joint actions for more profit:
 joint supply/sharing of technology, raw materials,
market intelligence, etc.,
 food-safety and security trainings, global GAP
certification,
 introduction of joint quality control system,
 better coverage of local market, exports,
 constructive dialogue with farmers and the
Government,
 research on new technologies, innovation,
sustainable practices, material reuse,
 development of strategic alliances with other
producers/suppliers and organizations,
 study trips, participation in trade fairs.

 Awareness Raising and Educating about advantages
of greenhouse farming to motivate more farmers
for greenhousing.

 increasing exports of agricultural products
(“voedselschuur CARICOM“), replacing imports of
food,
 support of the local Agro industry
 food security and food safety,
 minimizing the influences of the environment
 better disease control (minimizing seasonal impacts
– price fluctuation),
 consumer benefits (higher quality, lower price),
 higher/constant quality, quaranteed consistent
production,
 higher yield,
 less labour intensive,
 higher technological sophistication (precision
agriculture).
