Rules and Regulations
 Uniform





School Uniform changes will come in to force from June 15 2011
Regular uniform to be worn from Monday to Thursday.
House uniform will be in force on Fridays.
Non-compliance to uniform rules will result in the student being sent back home.
Colour dress can be worn on birthdays.
 Attendance







80% attendance out of 217 working days is mandatory for promotion to the next
class.
Monthly attendance should not go below 60% except under unavoidable
circumstance.
Leave availed for less than 3 days should be intimated through the school diary to
the class teacher by the parent.
Leave required/availed for 3 and more number of days should be intimated to the
class teacher in a separate letter before the student leaves or on return.
Leave taken on account of illness should be intimated through a letter
accompanied with medical certificate issued by the doctor. This applies for leave
beyond 3 days.
Exam attendance is compulsory. However absence due to unavoidable
circumstances will be condoned only in the first summative assessment.
The annual assessment exam is compulsory. A re-test for absentees will be held
before promotion to the next class is given.

 Punctuality





The school timing will be from 8.15 am to 2.40 pm.
Students should report to school by 8.10 am.
Late comers will be warned once a month only.
Late coming more than once will invite disciplinary action, such as
missing out the first period, intimation to parents, etc..
 Disciplinary Actions

Academic



Non-completion of CW/HW, irregularity in participation of study related
activities will invite disciplinary actions such as intimation to parents,
impositions, etc…
Maintenance of notebooks and textbooks is important.
Any loss of notebook/textbook should be intimated on time to the class
teacher.
 Non-Academic



Library rules – books read/borrowed should be returned in proper
condition failing which a heavy fine will be imposed.
Sport – Play items if destroyed fine will be imposed.
School Furniture, Lab Equipments etc will be the collective
responsibility of the concerned classes using them. In the event of a
breakage students found responsible will be fined.
School Academics
 The academic year will be divided into two terms.


Term 1 – April to September.
Term 2 – October to March.
Assessment Procedure.
The scholastic and non scholastic assessment will
be made at two levels, as continuous comprehensive
evaluation (CCE)

FA will be conducted during class hours in the form of
assignments, quizzes, debates, group discussions, play
enactment, seminars and one pen and paper test for every two
FAs.
SA- Summative assessment is a written, end of the term
examination which will consist of objective type, short answer
and long answer questions.
The lessons tested in the first summative exam of sep. will
include all lessons taught until then.
The remaining course will be tested at the end of second term
in March. First term course will not be repeated.

 Health and Physical Education.
The above areas will be assessed on a 5 point scale for
the life-skills and 3 point scale for Health and Physical
Education and Club Activities. These grades will also be
considered to reflect a student’s overall performance.


English
 Tamil/Hindi
 III Language
 EVS
 Maths
Tamil / Hindi will be considered as II/III Language as per the
choice of the students. III Language will be taught to
familiarize students with the language and will be limited to
FA only.
Class V and above will have French as compulsory language
while Hindi & Tamil will be as per students’ choice. All
languages will be tested as per FA & SA rules.
EVS for class I to V will be a combination of science & Social
studies.

Co-Scholastic Areas
 Life skills & Attitudes and Values
 Evaluation on the above will be done on the bases of




Creative and Critical thinking, self awareness, decision
making, Interpersonal, Managing Emotions, Attitude
towards teachers, friends, School Events, Environment,
value systems will all be assessed through various activities.
The books for the above assessment would be the GK, On
track, Life is beautiful and Harmony.
Literary & creative skills, Aesthetic skills & Dramatic skills
will also be assessed through club activities.
Sports and Yoga will also be evaluated.
The points awarded for these activities will be added to
scholastic subjects in the event of any student not
performing well in any of the scholastic subjects.

Counselling
 The school has a counselor who will facilitate solving
issues of students whether related to academic or
other matters.
Medical
 The School has basic first aid kit.
 In the event of any injury the student would be attend
to by our PTI and if necessary will be taken to kamachi
hospital with intimation to parents.
Open days will be on Saturdays.
