We currently start full time education for P1 pupils on the Monday of the third full week for pupils in the new session.
So if the start of session for pupils is Tuesday 16 August, P1s will commence full time on Monday 12 September

P1 full days have started in the 4th week of the first term

Primary 1 children attend full time from day 1 in August
Children attend full-time at beginning of September.
P1 pupils start full days after the first two weeks at school.
In Moray this guidance was issued with effect from August 2010:·
Phased entry should be limited to week 1 of the session
·
All children should attend for some time each day from day 1
·
Schools with small numbers of P1 pupils should look to having all pupils in school full time from day 1 where
possible
·
Minimum attendance should at least equal half-day sessions, as per pre-school experience
·
School support staff use should be prioritised to assist in P1 for the first few days where required
Transition arrangements with pre-school providers should be maximised from January each year.
North Ayrshire
For the last 2 sessions our Primary 1 pupils have started full time from the first day of term with the rest of the school
North Lanarkshire
P1 pupils in all day from the start of the session (introduced in August 2010)
Orkney
We currently start full time education for P1 pupils on the Monday of the third week for pupils in the new session. So if
the start of session for pupils is Tuesday 23 August, P1s will commence full time on Monday 5 September.

P1 children start with half days from the first day of session until the end of August ie they start full time after a week
and a few days
In Shetland where school transport is required for pupils to attend a school right from P1, pupils attend all
day. Otherwise there is a phased pattern of attendance in the first term from half days up to full days by the October
Break.
Our children start full time as of the start of term and have done so for a few years
Children started full time on Monday the 12th September
