Students are allocated at enrolment and throughout
the year. The higher the tier, the more hours allocated
to the student. Tier 2 and above students are allocated
a safeguarding mentor, and all safeguarding students
have a ‘lead’ person.

Pilot Mental Health Nurse Project 2012
 An agreement was reached to undertake a pilot for eight
weeks for three hours each week in which to see young
people. This ran from February to April 2012.
 To identify students who might not meet the referral
threshold for CAMHS but might need support beyond
what the college is able to provide.
 Referral by either counsellors or Child Protection Liaison
Officers
 Funded by Healthy FE.

 The pilot aimed to offer assessment of the presenting

difficulties to identify if :
the student might be further supported in college.

 Extend mental health nurse project from October to May





