Organizational Development
Definition
“Organisational development (OD) is a
planned effort to make an organisation
more effective and sustainable by involving
the people of the organisation in a change
process which is based upon a strategic
vision that evolves with society and
focuses on the Mission of Scouting”

The Strategic Planning Toolkit (WOSM) sets out a strategic
planning process
The model on the next page shows how OD Disciplines relate
to that process
The grey box in the centre of the chart is a simplified version
of the Strategic Planning Process set-out in Section 2 of the
Strategic Planning Kit
The other boxes propose disciplines which are required in an
organisation to successfully implement a strategic plan and to
make sustainable change
