Muscle Contraction Skit
By BB
• “Contraction in Action” Muscle Contraction Skits
• Anatomy & Physiology/Tissues, Bones and Muscles
• Purpose: To create a live model or skit of approximately 3 minutes to
demonstrate muscle anatomy and the physiology of muscle contraction.
• Directions:
• Each group member must have at least one part/role in the live model or
skit.
• Required parts/roles include: muscle fiber, myofibril, sarcomere, thin
(actin) filament, thick (myosin) filament, Z disc (line), H zone, I band and A
band, ATP and ADP.
• Each part/role must be clearly identified to the audience either verbally or
in writing.
• The model/skit MUST explain the sliding filament theory of muscle
contraction/relaxation.
• The model/skit should be BOTH creative AND scientifically accurate.
• You will have approximately half and hour to prepare your model/skit. At
that time you must be prepared to perform your model/skit to the class.
