Department of Physics, Banaras Hindu University is going to organize a five days workshop on “ Characterization and Functionalization of Nanomaterials (CFN-
2015)” during 09-13 March, 2015 under UGC Networking Programme.
AIMS OF CFN-2015
To exchange expertise of young researchers among themselves and with experts of different areas of
Condensed Matter Physics &
Materials Science
To create next generation workforce of professional skills.
METERIALS TO BE DISCUSSED:
Spintronic materials, Spin glass and ferro-fluids; Multiferroic materials;
Grapheme and Carbon nanotubes; Dilute magnetic semiconductor
(DMS); Photonic crystals; Light emitting-diode (LED) and transistor (LET)
Polymer, Colloids; different other nanostructures; Bio-nano materials.
EXPERIMENTAL TECHNIQUES:
TEM; SEM & EDX; STM, AFM, MFM & PFM; X-ray & Neutron Diffraction;
XPS; EXAFS; Raman spectroscopy; Dielectric spectroscopy,
Applications are invited from Ph.D. students, Post Doctoral Fellows and Young
Faculty Members (age up to 35 years) for participation in the Workshop. The interested candidates are requested to apply by email/ post giving detailed academic bio-data to the Convener. Ph.D. and Post-doc students are required
endorsement from the supervisor. The selected candidates will be provided boarding/ lodging and to and fro travel support (SL for Ph.D. students and AC-III for young faculty respectively). The Last date of Application is 15 th Feb., 2015.
