healthy life.

Undergraduate Program
 BS – Bachelor of Science in Public Health

Public Health Majors typically work in voluntary agencies , public health departments, hospitals,
rehabilitation centers, corporate worksites, community health organizations, family planning clinics,
and managed care facilities, to name a few.
Certification Programs
 Construction Safety Management
o
The Construction Safety Management Certificate will be invaluable for the construction professional
(e.g., electrician, carpenter, etc.) seeking to increase his or her knowledge of construction safety
and health, and beneficial for the industrial safety professional seeking to expand his or her
knowledge of safety in the construction field.
 Emergency Management
o
In emergency management, a special population is any group of people that needs extra support to
be prepared for an emergency, as well as those needing community support to successfully respond
and recover in disasters or emergency situations.

The M.S. program in Clinical Research and Translational Medicine provides detailed training in the requirements for conducting clinical research and an
understanding of the complex scientific, ethical, and regulatory issues associated with such research.
Master of Science in Environmental Health

Temple University's Department of Public Health (PH) and the School of Social Work’s (SSW) MSW program offers a dual degree program that affords fulltime students the opportunity to earn MSW and MPH degrees in three years, or four years, for part-time students.

Temple University's Department of Public Health and the School of Podiatric Medicine have created a program whereby podiatric students may obtain a
Masters in Public Health (MPH) while they complete the DPM program.
MSW-MPH – Dual Degree

Temple University's Department of Public Health and the Kornberg School of Dentistry have created a program whereby dental students may obtain a
Masters in Public Health (MPH) while they complete the DMD program.
DPM-MPH – Dual Degree

students may obtain a Masters in Public Health (MPH) while they complete the DO program.

obtain a Masters in Public Health (MPH) while they complete the MD program.
Environmental Health is the interdisciplinary, scientific endeavor to promote public health through a healthy and sustainable environment.
Master of Science in Epidemiology

The Masters of Science (MS) in Epidemiology degree at Temple University is designed specifically for students interested in an in-depth training and
knowledge of the research techniques appropriate to conduct epidemiologic studies in a particular concentration of health.

 Master of Education

The 33 semester-hour master's program in School Health Education is designed for school personnel (teachers, counselors,
nurses) and those working with youth who want to advance their knowledge and understanding of health instruction and
counseling. The curriculum teaches from a conceptual model of health promotion and disease prevention. The program
incorporates principles of health behavior as well as health counseling.
 Master of Public Health
o
Temple's MPH program provides a credential that indicates competency in social, environmental, and behavioral aspects of
health, the analytic sciences of epidemiology and biostatistics, and principles of health service management, including program
planning, evidence-based practice, and evaluation.
 PhD in Health Ecology – Doctorate of Philosophy in Health Ecology
o
The Ph.D. in Health Ecology responds to the shortage of and demand for doctorally trained researchers and academicians in the
health professions. The uniqueness of this restructured program lies in its mission to prepare doctoral students to become
leaders in interdisciplinary approaches that address the complex challenges associated with the maintenance and promotion of
health and life quality across the life span by acknowledging the diversity of communities and societies.
 PhD in Public Health – Doctorate of Philosophy in Public Health

The Public Health PhD Program provides training and experiences that support interdisciplinary learning, promote critical and
theory-based, problem-solving skills to address public health problems, and foster the development of public health professional
values and ethics.
