different fun activities. One of the biggest reasons people
today wish to learn English is that they want to mee
people from all over the world through the Internet
Through English, you will be able to talk to differen
people and see the world through their eyes. You will be
able to hear a number of interesting stories and connec
with the world in a way you may never have though
possible.

The most popular movies today are made in the English
language. By learning English, you will be able to bette
understand the plot of a movie without having the
meaning lost in translation. You will enjoy a Hollywood
film in the manner that the writer and director meant fo
you to enjoy it. You will no longer have to listen to
dubbed voices or fix you eyes at captions at the bottom
of screens.

Learning English will also allow you to better appreciate
word games and riddles. You will be able to appreciate
why people find Scrabble to be so much fun, and why
talk show hosts get so many laughs. Some of the mos
talented and wittiest people in the world communicate

the language and understand them yourself.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind that will help you on
your journey towards learning the English language.

Tip #1- Make Sure You WANT to Learn
Make sure that you really want to learn this language.
If you really don’t want to learn, there is no book, no
class, and no tips that are going to make it simpler for
you. However, a real desire to learn the language can
go a long way.

Tip #2 – Figure Out What MOTIVATES You
If you want to learn English effectively, you need to
figure out what your motivation is. Why do you want to
learn English so badly? Do you want to improve your
current learning, get a better job, attend university, or
enjoy your life in an English speaking country? You need
to understand what motivates you so you can use it as
encouragement as you learn the language.

Tip #3 – Decide on Some GOALS
Setting goals will help you to know where you want to be
and it will guide you to actually see your progress as you
learn the language. Decide what your goals are, whethe
you want to improve your vocabulary, pronunciation, o
even if you want to comprehend better when you’re
listening. Once you know your goals, make sure that you
are working to achieve them.

Tip #4 –Be Sure to PRACTICE
The more you practice your English skills, the better you
will become good at it. You can practice by reading
English, by writing emails and letters, by listening to
television or the radio in English, or even by taking time
to speak to other people who speak the English language

making over time, and you’ll become more effective with
your English skills.

No matter what language you’re learning, a large
vocabulary is going to be very important. This i
especially important when you are learning the English
language. One of the best ways to learn new vocabulary
items is to start reading and you can also learn more by
listening to the radio or watching television. Playing
word games and doing word puzzles can also help you
out when you are trying to enhance your English
vocabulary.

If you plan on learning a language, it should be done
every single day. When you study each day it is easier to
retain the new things that you learn. You’ll also find tha
you can review more easily every day and you’l

When you’re having fun, it actually makes it easier fo
you to remember things that you learn, so make sure tha
you make learning English fun. Take time to do puzzle
and to play games, even if it does seem a bit childish

provide you with excellent practice.

This week is English week. Our English Department ha
organized a number of activities to let you all know
learning English is FUN. I’d like to invite all of you to
actively participate in all the activities: English Speaking
Day, Trivia Quiz, Speak Like a Native, Word Fight, Story
Telling Competition and Pride Arcade during lunch hour
and assemblies. Hope you all enjoy the English Week.
