candle inside.
• Many ghosts met
on October 31 to
worship the devil.
• Fortunetelling is an
important part of

• St. Valentine’s Day
is a religious
holiday, which is
celebrated in Great
Britain, in many
European
countries and in
the USA.
Cupid, the Roman God of love
• Valentine was a
Christian priest in
the Roman Empire
300 years after
death of Jesus
Christ
• On
this
day,
people
send
presents or flowers
to those whom
they love, people
send «valentines»,
greeting
cards,
named after St.
Valentine's letters
written in the jail.
Thanksgiving Day
• The
Pilgrims
celebrated the first
Thanksgiving day
in
autumn
1621.They sailed
to America from
Plymouth, England
in September,
1620.
The Native American Indians
• The Indians taught
the Pilgrims how to
plant, fish, hunt
and survive in
America, to grow
corn,
pumpkins
and
use
cranberries.
• The Pilgrims were
thankful and
decided to
celebrate it with a
Thanksgiving
feast.
• Thanksgiving day
in the fall. It is
celebrated on the
last Thursday of
November
