DM CONQUEST
wRITE BETTER
SALES MESSAGES
Before you start using this workbook, I wanted to
make sure you understand how it's supposed to be
used.
These scripts should be PERSONALISED. This
is not designed for mass outreach spam campaigns.
It is for those who hold themselves to a higher
standard.
My strategy for outreach is to send only high-quality
messages that would make the person receiving
them feel awful if they did not respond.
Every Direct Message in this ebook includes some
remarks and recommendations from me in order to
get you the best possible results.
Having said that, it will take you a bit longer to fill in
some of the blanks on these templates.
But I assure that the end result will be worthwhile
and the time you put in!
Zorgan -
DM BEST
PRACTICES
1. Always use the person's first name. If you don't
have the first name, use a term. My recommendation
is to use the word 'friend.'
2. Make use of emojis. You'll notice that I end my
messages with a , but you may replace it with your
favourite emoji(s).
💯
3. *THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE* These
messages are intended to be customized. As a result,
you will see words between brackets. Before you
press send, you must fill up those brackets!
4. Use GIFs to multiply your reactions. Check that the
GIF is relevant to the message. A 'welcome' or 'thank
you' GIF works well for a first message.
4. Use voice notes to triple your replies. People enjoy
hearing your voice, and there's a sense of interest
because they see the play button and want to press
it.
5. There will be other sequences on this page.
Follow-up messages should always be sent roughly
48 hours after the initial communication.
WELCOME NEW
FOLLOWERS
Hey {First Name},
Thanks so much for the follow & welcome to my
community!
If there is any way that I can be a resource to you or
answer any questions, please don't hesitate to
reach out.
💯
Appreciate you and hope you're having a great day!
Can't find their first name, use Friend
Double your response rate by adding a GIF
Triple your response rate by doing this as a voice
message.
I highly recommend taking the time to do this,
especially if you think there's an opportunity for
this person to be a client. It helps you build trust
and credibility and stand out because almost
nobody does this!
THANKS FOR ENGAGING
for people who engaged
but didn’t follow
Hey {First Name},
Noticed that you gave some love to my recent post
about {topic of your post) and wanted to say thank
you.
I was checking out your profile and it looks like
you're sharing some great insight into {their niche}.
Always looking to level up my knowledge on {their
niche) so I dropped you a follow.
Appreciate you and hope you're having a great day.
💯
If you are looking to grow your page, this is the
lowhanging fruit. They've seen your content
and liked it. When you reach out and follow them,
they like you even more. 7 out of 10 will follow
back.
Highly recommend voice notes for this. 3x your
response.
CONNECTION FOR SOMEONE
YOU WANT TO BE PART OF
YOUR COMMUNITY
Hey {First Name},
I just came across your most recent post on {post
topic} and I appreciate your insight.
It got me thinking because {share a 1-2 sentence
story about why that post resonated with you...
make it thoughtful!}.
Just wanted to share my appreciation.
Really dig your content. Keep up the great work!
💯
This is a great way to start a relationship with a
creator that you admire.
Or a potential client. I recommend finding people
who are likely to follow back and maybe even
buy by looking in the comments of larger
creators in your niche.
Highly recommend voice note for this. 3X
response.
COLLAB ASK A CREATOR
TO COLLAB WITH YOU
Hey {First Name},
You up for a collab?
I I've got a killer post about {a topic you know their
audience will love}.
Would that be beneficial to your community?
Have the post already made.
Use one of your best posts from 60-90 days ago.
**Make sure that this is someone who you
engage with regularly. Don't ask someone who
doesn't know you for a collab**
SALES DM SEQUENCE #1
Hey {First Name},
Noticed that you {insert something they are trying to
acheive}. The reason that I'm reaching out is that I've
been working with {insert their persona coach,
designer, realtor, etc} to {insert their desired
outcome - clients for coaching program, course
sales, webinar registrants, etc}.
Worth a conversation?
The way you find out what someone is looking to
achieve is by looking at their CTAs. It could be
more followers, get clients for a coaching
program, fill seats in a webinar, or sell their
course or product. Look at their recent posts,
their stories, their bio, and they're link-in-bio to
find the CTAs. If they respond positively, move to
the Pre Sales Call Sequence.
No response, move to #2.
SALES DM SEQUENCE #2
Any thoughts?
Send this 2 days after the first message. Keeping this
simple. The idea is just a reminder in case they
missed the first message or got distracted and didn't
respond. If they respond positively, move to the Pre
Sales Call Sequence.
No response, move to #3.
SALES DM SEQUENCE #3
Just wanted to see if you had an opportunity to check
out my last message?
Send this 2 days after message #2. *At this point,
you should be getting a response rate over 70%.
If they respond positively, move to the Pre Sales
Call Sequence.
No response, move to #4.
SALES DM SEQUENCE #4
Hey {First Name},
Before I say goodbye and stop bothering you, do you
have any feedback on how I could have made this
message better?
{Insert Gif}
Send a GIF with some sort of goodbye theme. Be
funny if you can.
The point of the GIF is to get their attention and
show you're an actual person.
You pair that with the message humbly asking
for their opinion and people would feel bad if
they don't respond.
SALES DM SEQUENCE IF NOT INTERESTED
No worries at all!
Just out of curiosity, was it just bad timing or is it
something else?
This is for people who said they didn't want to
jump on a call with you.
This response is designed to dig into why and
restart the conversation.
PRE SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #1
Awesome.
Are you available right now?
This is for people who have expressed interest
Strike while the iron is hot.
Try to get them on a call immediately, If not,
move to option #2.
PRE SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #2
Would it be cool to send you my calendar link?
Ask permission to send the link. For some reason,
some people are turned off by booking on
someone else's calendar but when you ask
permission, they always say yes.
PRE SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #3
Here's the link to get a meeting on the calendar.
{insert your meeting link}
Best practice for your calendar invite link is to
have a few questions and make their phone
number required so you have another way to
contact them if they don't show.
PRE SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #4
Saw you booked the call for {day}. Looking foward to
speaking with you!
✌
These messages just help ensure people actually
show up.
If the customer doesn't book the call, move to
steps 4a, 4b, 4c given further down below
PRE SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #5
Hey {First Name},
I came across this article and I thought it might be of
interest to you. Looking forward to our call
tomorrow.
✌
{insert article link}
Find an article related to their niche or a common
problem they have. It helps build trust, acts as an
icebreaker to start the sales meeting, and serves
as a reminder for the call.
PRE SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #6
Looking forward to our conversation today!
{insert GIF}
Send this 1 hour prior to the meeting
PRE SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #4A
Hey {First Name}... Did the link not work?
Unfortunately, people won't book the call right
away. Once they book, move on to step 5. Send
this 24 hours after #4
PRE SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #4B
Hey {First Name}... noticed you haven't booked the
call yet. Are you still interested?
Send 24 hours after 4a
PRE SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #4C
Hey {First Name}... Any feedback for me as to why
you decided not to book the call?
Send 5 days after 4b
POST SALES CALL
SEQUENCE INSTRUCTIONS
I'm breaking this down into 3 separate
sequences...
1- YES - for those who agreed to move
forward on the sales call.
2- MAYBE - for those who "need to
think about it' or wouldn't commit but
didn't say no.
3- NO - for those who weren't a good
fit
POST SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #1
I appreciate you jumping on the call today and I'm
excited to {insert something related to what they
purchased - sell below}.
Here's the enrollment link. Let me know if you have
any questions.
✌
*If they agree to move forward, get them this
message right away. Don't give them time to
change their mind. Change up the language for
what they purchased. If it's a 1:1, use {to be
working with you} or for a group {to have you in
the community or group}.
POST SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #2
Just wanted to make sure the link was working
correctly or that you didn't have any questions.
✌
Send this 3 hours after #1
POST SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #3
Hey {First Name},
See you haven't signed up yet. Did you have any
outstanding questions?
Send 1 day after #2
POST SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #4
Hey {First Name},
Looks like there's some hesitation. Has anything
changed since our call?
Send this 2 days after #3
Their response to this one will dictate the next
step. *
If they respond that nothing's changed, go to
step 5.
If they respond that something has changed, go
to step 5a.
POST SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #5
Ok cool... Please get that done as soon as possible
because otherwise, we might have to delay the start.
Here's the link again... {insert the link}
POST SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #5A
What's going on?
What's the best time for us to jump on a quick call
and discuss?
If they respond yes, book the call ASAP and get to
the root of why they changed their mind. After
the second call, start a new post-call sequence.
Otherwise, they will take the time to explain why
they're hesitating at this point. At this point,
you'll likely move them to the Maybe sequence.
POST SALES CALL
SEQUENCE - #6
Hey {First Name},
Did I lose you?
If they don't respond, you've lost them.
9 times out of 10, they'll respond to this.
Depending on the response, either move on or
send the link one last time.
This is the last step. If they don't shit or get off
the pot at this point, they'll come back when
they're ready.
Send this 3 days after #5
POST SALES CALL
SEQUENCE MAYBE - #1
Hey {First Name},
Appreciate the time today. I'm gonna come right out
and say that you're a perfect fit for {insert your
product}.
I know we'd work well together and you'd get a
massive return on your investment.
Let me know if there's was something missing that
you hoped to get out of {insert your product} and I'll
see if I can work out something for you.
Talk soon!
✌
Send immediately after the call
POST SALES CALL
SEQUENCE MAYBE - #2
Any thought on our last conversation?
Send 2 days after #1 If response is positive, go to
#3 If no response, go to #3a
POST SALES CALL
SEQUENCE MAYBE - #3
What can I do to get you on board?
Let them tell you and then move into the YES
sequence
If it's a definite no, move to #3a
POST SALES CALL
SEQUENCE MAYBE #3A
No worries. I'm here when the timing is right
✌
POST SALES CALL
SEQUENCE MAYBE - #4
Hey {First Name},
Hope all is well. Just wanted to see if you've given
any more thought to {insert your product}.
*Send this after 30 days and then again after
another 60 days to stay top of mind. I'd urge you
to stay actively engaging with them during this
period of time.
POST SALES CALL
SEQUENCE NO
Appreciate you taking the time today.
Let's definitely stay in touch.
BTW... would you know of anyone who might be a
better fit?
✌
*Not everyone is good fit. That doesn't mean they
don't know someone who is. Don't be afraid to
ask!
THANK YOU
