1. KNOW THE USER
Before designing a system, one must first understand who will use it. In this image, you can see a
category of students' educational degrees. The "User" in this context is the students. The HCI principle
"Know the User" implies to the needs and capabilities of the target users of the system in design.
Making a system without knowing who your users are is incredibly challenging. You ought to be aware
of who your user is..
2.UNDERSTAND THE TASK
The HCI principle "Understand the Task" refers to the job to be completed by the user through the
usage of the interactive system. You can see an arrow I used in this shot. What will happen if you click
on this icon? It will be directed to the enrollment procedures. In this HCI concept, you must already
understand/determine the various features, tasks, and jobs that will be performed for the user.
3.REMIND USER
The HCI "Remind User" idea is to use interfaces that provide regular reminders about vital information
or actions to be performed. As you can see, there is a form that you need to fill out, and you will see a
warning sign box that reminds you that you have not yet answered. It will not route you to the following
pages if you do not respond to the warning sign box, which is why I should put Remind User as the HCI
principle in this image.
Identify at least one(1) are of the STI website that needs improvement in
relation to HCI principles. Make sure to specify the HCI principle associated
to the area of improvement. Use minimum of five sentences in explaining
your idea.
When you click the Register Now Link symbol, you will be sent to a page where you can fill out your
information. I believe they require the HCI principle of prevent errors/reversal of action because it is
critical to complete the task without error. They require a pop-up confirmation that all the user input
information is correct. When a user makes an error in providing information during the process, they
can double check before selecting the pop-up confirmation icon rather than being "punished" by having
to start over.
After identifying the principles, explain why it is important to consider all
theses principle when designing and developing a website. Use a
maximum five(5) sentences in expressing your thoughts.
The HCI principle is extremely important when designing and developing a website because it is a multiobjective work that requires synchronized thought of several aspects, such as the types of clients. Task
characteristics, capabilities, and the toll incurred by the equipment. Changes in technology necessitate
the use of objective or exact quantitative assessment measures. Clients expect quick and easy service;
you should be aware of how your framework is implemented. The site should be user-friendly so that
visitors are not confused.
