Finding Felonies & Misdemeanors
Directions:
1. Locate your state’s penal codes, or the list of crimes maintained by the state.
2. Identify three felony crimes and, in your own words, summarize the description of
the crime and explain what the punishment is for the crime.
3. Identify three misdemeanor crimes and, in your own words, summarize the
description of the crime and explain what the punishment is for the crime.
4. Once everyone is finished, get into groups of four and share your list of crimes
with the group.
