ABSTRACT
This paper proposes to design PWM with chaotic carrier, is simulated and
implemented in terms of their performance in suppressing ripples, increasing
converter conversion efficiency and spectral performance in maximum power
point tracking (MPPT) circuits (DC-DC converter) of the solar PV system. The
nominal duty cycle of the main switch in the Cuk DC-DC converter is adjusted
to a value so that the input resistance of the converter is equal to the equivalent
output resistance of solar PV module at the MPP. The performance comparison
of proposed Chaotic PWM control method has been carried out with
conventional PWM based MPP tracking of solar PV system experimentally with
a 37-Wp solar PV module.
