FLEXIBLE LEARNING

flexibility to take time out from their studies

If you are a burgeoning fashion
stylist aiming to make a mark on

You will learn how to plan and make a basic
pattern, as well as the technical skills for
blocking and shaping a spring / summerinspired headpiece. We teach you how
to use a range of specialist equipment
alongside professional techniques to help
you develop key skills as a milliner.
You will use sinamay and other straw-type
materials traditionally worn during the
spring/summer season.
Starting with a cocktail hat and moving onto
more ambitious projects, you will learn to
make all parts of a hat from scratch. Most
importantly, you are encouraged to develop
your own design and style. This is an
immensely rewarding course for people
who simply like to be creative or wish to
take their skill to the next level.
The course is taught by leading Milliner, Kate
Betts, whose achievements have been widely
recognised. Kate was a Highly Commended
Finalist in Hat Designer of the Year 2012 at
Premiere Classe in Paris, nominated for the
2013 Fashion Innovation Awards, and has been
featured in the Irish Times Life and Sunday
Times’ “Style” magazine.

The Beyond Skin Foundation, is a non-profit
based organisation, established in 2012, that
supports Indian women achieve empowerment
through resources and skill-based learning.
We work with the foundation to provide our training
courses locally and equip women to create better
