With the release of the new IPELA ENGINE™ EX cameras, Sony’s Security Systems
Division has raised the standard on what can be called professional security products.
The Security Certification Program training aims to match the new professional
products with a new standard for what it takes to be a Certified Security Professional
by Sony. Advanced technology requires advanced training and knowledge to
professionally design, install, configure and provide ongoing system support.
Certified Security Professionals by Sony need to possess the IP/Hybrid skills,
know-how and best practices to assure successful deployment plans for all types
of projects. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:
• Influence key surveillance decision makers
on IP/Hybrid technology design decisions.
• Accelerate IP/Hybrid deployment timetables
while avoiding costly design, configuration
and installation mistakes.
The Security Certification Program training is a
two-day advanced course where attendees will
gain important hands-on experience working
with Sony’s new Security curriculum and
learning tools. The course is used to develop
advanced hands-on design and configuration
skills required to pass the Security Certified
Professional training proctored exam.

Security Certification Program test passing requirements
A passing score of 75% or greater on the (closed book) exam within the testing time
limit is required. The exam questions are multiple-choice, multi-answer questions and
will test whether the individual possesses the prerequisite understanding and skills
necessary to support Sony’s security products in a wide range of environments and
size of projects.
Certified professionals who complete the course
and pass the exam are eligible for 14 Bicsi credits.
