Academic Integrity Consent Statement
The NCSU Student Handbook has a section called the Code of Student Conduct. This
section defines academic integrity, academic dishonesty, cheating and plagiarism.

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY The Foreign Language Department takes the University Policy
on Academic Integrity very seriously. If you do not already have the pamphlet
explaining this NCSU policy, ask your advisor for one. In accordance with this policy, you
will be required to sign the Honor Pledge on every exam that you take in this class. The
Honor Pledge reads: "I have neither given nor received any unauthorized aid on this
assignment or test."
In addition, please be aware that it is my expressed expectation that your signature on
any homework assignment means that you have neither given nor received

Although you must complete and turn in your own work, you are encouraged to work
with others in completing and preparing assignments outside of class, as well as some
activities during class time. Such collaboration is authorized in this class. Quizzes and
tests are the principal exceptions.
If you work with another student or get help from a tutor, please indicate this on your
assignment. For example, in class, you will put your name and your partner's on the
travail de classe. On your homework you might write, "My tutor and I worked together
on this assignment." Copying or sharing of answers in or out of the classroom, from
another student or from an answer key, without attribution, is a violation of the honor
code. Please ask me if you have any questions about these policies. Do not give me any
reason to be suspicious of your honesty. I will report violations of Academic Integrity to
the Office of Student Conduct, and the consequences can be serious. The Code of

I understand that the consequences of committing any act of academic dishonesty can
include a failing grade for the assignment, failure in the class as a whole, and even
expulsion from the university. I will not plagiarize or cheat.
