Features of Murata’s Supercapacitor Solution Data evacuating backup system A primary battery is often used for backing up power supply for volatile memory(memory protection backup system). Data in volatile memory, however, can disappear when backup time becomes long and battery is wasted. For this reason, Murata offers data evacuating backup solution using a supercapacitor (EDLC). In the event of power failure, the supercapacitor provides enough power to write any data in transit down from volatile to non-volatile memory. This system can considerably reduce the risk of losing data. (Please refer to block circuit diagram #5). ① Maintenance free <Constant power discharge of DMT334R2S474M3DTA0> In the memory protection backup system, battery replacement is needed when battery is wasted or at the time of periodic maintenance. In the data evacuating backup system, there is no need for maintenance because a primary battery is not in use. ② Battery less No battery is used in the data evacuating backup system.
