Q. Is there not something intuitively obvious about the way the historical-redemptive shift from
the OT wineskins to the NT wineskins eliminates the idea of priests and the great high priest?
Does this not contrast strikingly with the structure of the Roman Catholic Church?
A. Yes, because Jesus is our great high priest, we have no earthly high priest or pope and all
believers have access to God through His mediation alone. The veil on the Temple was cut open
when Jesus died on the cross signifying the fact that the barrier that separated His people from
the most direct and intimate fellowship has now been taken out of the way.
