ACTIVITY SHEET
1 Make an electromagnet with your rivet, wire coil, battery,
and battery holder.
2 Observe how many paper clips you can pick up with your
electromagnet.
3 Try the experiment three times.
4 Then repeat, adding additional coils of wire to the rivet.
Record your data in the table.
Note: DO NOT HOLD BOTH WIRES TO THE BATTERY FOR MORE
THAN 30 SECONDS OR YOU WILL SHORT THE BATTERY.
